BAKERMAKS
Global corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions involve numerous parties and quantities of information. The attorneys collaborating to complete a deal may be distributed across multiple offices in different jurisdictions and at client locations.
Baker & McKenzie, the world's biggest law firm, needed a better way to:
- Leverage attorneys' expertise across its worldwide offices.
- Give clients visibility into the deal process, and streamline their review and contribution to deal documents.
- "Templatize" a particular deal type, to reduce costs, and improve the quality of services for common deal types.
As Director of Implementation at NextPage, I worked with Baker & McKenzie attorneys to define an application that fulfilled these needs, managed application quality and testing, and defined and implemented support for the application. Our team completed six on-time, on-budget releases, that met all release specifications.
"Baker & McKenzie is revolutionizing the way it does transactions such as mergers and acquisitions," said Baker & McKenzie partner Mark Swords. "The system connects attorneys to all the relevant information and people required to complete a transaction - saving time and improving the decision-making process. This capability further enhances the service we provide to the client - a significant competitive advantage for our firm."
